2022

The Inaugural St Catherine Labouré, Gymea Parish Dinner was held on Friday, November 18th 2022, at the beautiful and prestigious Doltone House in Sylvania Waters. The dinner was hosted by our beloved Parish Priest, Fr Gregory Morgan, and was attended by over 400 people, most of who are parishioners here at St Caths. We were honoured and blessed to have guest speakers Danny and Leila Abdallah, share their powerful story of hope and forgiveness from the tragic death of their three children in a car accident. They have spoken at many events in Sydney and beyond about their experience, and they have inspired many people with their witness of forgiveness. Danny and Leila Abdallah’s story was incredibly moving, and it inspired many people in the audience, including the staff at Doltone House. The dinner was a wonderful occasion to celebrate faith and friendship and community, and it was a great success!

The idea for the Parish Dinner was born after Parish Priest, Fr Gregory Morgan, in conversation with several parishioners here at St Catherine Labouré Gymea Parish, expressed the desire to come together and celebrate faith and friendship. Fr Gregory Morgan was impressed by the Abdallahs’ story, and he thought that it would be a great idea to have them share their story at the first Parish Dinner.

The Parish Dinner is now an annual event, and will always be a popular one, as Parishioners wait in joyful anticipation. The Parish Dinner is a great opportunity for our parishioners to come together and celebrate their faith and friendship with one another.

The Parish Dinner is a wonderful event that brings the parish community together. It is a celebration of faith, friendship, and love. The dinner was a great success and also caught the attention of The Catholic Weekly – you can view their article here
