Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.” (CCC 1213)
St Catherine’s welcomes families who wish to have their children Baptised in the Church. They are celebrated most Sunday’s at 11 am, and bookings are required with dates only set/firmed when the Application Document and Donation are returned.
Please keep in mind that we are limited to the number of Godparents listed on the Certificate as generally only 2 are recommended – ONE of whom MUST BE Catholic.
Parents, please review the baptismal pack, linked below. Baptism Packs can also be obtained from the Parish Office during Office hours, An appointment with our Sacramental Coordinator is required, so please call 9525.1138 to arrange a suitable time to meet, and collect and to return your completed information form and offering – it is important at this time that you READ everything in the Pack whilst we have no Sacramental Coordinator to meet with you.
The child should be in white and you supply the Baptism Candle – any specially prepared Candles should have the word BAPTISM and not christening.
(The suggested Offering as recommended by the Bishops is $60.00 which can be placed in an envelope clearly marked with the Child’s Name and Surname and returned with the completed Application Form to the Parish Office – only once all the documents and donation are returned will a Date for the Baptism be set)

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WILL WE ACCEPT EMAILED DOCUMENTS – THEY MUST BE RETURNED TO THE PARISH OFFICE IN PERSON !!!!!
NO EMAILED PAPERWORK WILL BE ACTIONED
ALL applications/paperwork MUST be returned to the Parish Office in person. We will not accept emailed forms.
Please DO NOT TRY AND EMAIL the forms back as they clog our email account and we cannot access them – especially when you take a photo shot of them and try and send them via email!!!!!
No dates or tentative bookings can be made until the completed paperwork has been lodged (in person) at the Office.
Please DO NOT use the DONATE function to pay for Baptisms as people are incorrectly making payments to the parish’s CWF appeal and NOT the correct option by way of the DROP DOWN box provided.
